Dr. Jamie Fairbanks Harvey, also addressed as “Moc”, a proud 1975 Red Bank High School graduate, has declared her candidacy for District 3 Red Bank commissioner which will be determined on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Her undergraduate degree in Health & Physical Education was joyfully earned from the University of TN Chattanooga (UTC Mocs); whereas, she earned a graduate degree in Education from Eastern Kentucky University and her terminal doctorate degree Child and Family Studies from Nova Southeastern University.
As they met at Red Bank High School in the same class, Jamie & Mark Harvey married in 1980. They were married for 38. 5 years when Mark passed away on Easter, April 21, 2019. Jamie’s family shares life with her son, Kell Harvey and married to Laurie; two grandsons, Thomas Mark & Banks. She was raised with two sisters: Wendy Lyness and a baby sister and Red Bank resident Meg O’Neal who passed away in 2021. Her parents were Skipper & Carolyn Fairbanks. She is blessed to be aunt & great-aunt to fun-loving nieces & nephews.
She has been an integral part of the Red Bank community through various organizations & roles. Red Bank United Methodist Church has held her membership for her 64 years. As a loyal member, Jamie has taught Sunday School, committee service, Red Bank community Food Bank and choir. Additionally, she was invested in our Red Bank Dixie Youth Baseball program for decades alongside many family members. Her Dad, Mr. Skipper Fairbanks was the Director & one of the pioneers who founded the organization where many boys & girls who not only played baseball but also established lifelong friendships.
